Just a few hours after touching clay on the wheel for the first time, I knew I was meant to be a potter. I use inspiration from the deep blues of Cayuga Lake or the rolling wooded hills that surround us to make beautiful, functional pottery that I hope you use every day. I also enjoy sharing my love of clay with others. The pottery classes at Cornell that I have taught inspire me with new shapes, ideas, and colors. And being around other members of the vibrant Ithaca community makes me glad to be a part of the Finger Lakes area. But as a stay-at-home dad, this work suits my life since I am able to plan my work schedule around the life of my family with 3 busy children.
These locally hand-made pieces are beautiful to give as a unique gift for a special occasion. They are also a wonderful way for you to enjoy beauty every day as you have your morning coffee or tea, or have on the table to make a simple meal something more. The lead-free glazes I make are microwave and dishwasher safe and will last you a lifetime.
I hope you enjoy my work, I am truly happy creating it.
